Early Inspiration
At age 3, I was deeply bothered by environmental pollution and voiced my desire for “a forest” as a gift. I planted over 30,000 Lakshmi Taru trees with my mother—a formative act that shaped my passion for sustainability.
Journey
In Grade 4, I took my first step in environmental advocacy with a school campaign. By Grade 5, I had elevated this into a project—launching an Instagram campaign featuring my posters, short videos, and original poems.
I continued to use art as a form of advocacy with my recycled piece, Sliced Sea, made from candle wicks and twine. The artwork portrays a cross-section of the ocean—from surface to seabed—highlighting the impact of marine pollution. It was featured in my school’s newsletter under compelling titles like “Painting Our Planet” and “A Sustainable Artistic Representation of Marine Depth.” The piece also earned me a letter of recommendation from the Secretary of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.

Mehr Dhawan, a Class 9 student from Pathways School, Gurgaon, presented her impressive project on Marine Pollution. She also shared a heartfelt poem on the subject. I wished the enthusiastic young girl all the success in future. It warmed my heart to see the message of environmental consciousness permeating the young generation. Kudos to Mehr and Pathways School for nurturing such passionate change-makers!
